Manual Therapy

Firstly, we are very hands-on with our patients and their treatments, and therefore very comfortable with the multitude of manual therapy treatments we offer. Being able to articulate the musculature and other soft tissue in the body can only be done with work such as this.

For clarity, manual therapy is a physical treatment style utilized by clinicians to treat muscle dysfunction, myofascial restrictions, joint pain, and nerve issues, among others. It encompasses a variety of techniques including soft-tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, massage, and joint manipulation. We also utilize a number of Tool Assisted Manual Therapies (TAMT), including ASTYM & trigger point dry needling.

There are many notable forms of manual therapy. Manipulation is the application of a rapid force into a joint(s). Manipulation is often associated with an audible popping sound called cavitation. Mobilization is usually a slower, more controlled process of moving joints & soft tissue, intended to improve mobility. Massage is typically the repetitive rubbing, stripping or kneading of muscle and fascia tissues to facilitate healing.
